Pinecone crafts are great free kids crafts

By Brandi W.

All kids love to admire animals, why not use those annoying pinecones in your yard to satisfy your kids.

You can make bird feeders out of them, that will keep your children busy watching.

I am going to tell you the materials you need and some alternate items you can use for these fun pinecone crafts!

Materials

  1. Pinecone.
  2. Peanut butter.
  3. String.
  4. Birdseed.

Other Recommendations

  • Oats.
  • Cornmeal.
  • Dry fruit.
  • Nuts.
  • Sunflower seeds.

Directions

:

First you will need to tie a string around the top of the pinecone and leave a long piece to tie it to the tree. You will take a butter knife or other preferred item and spread the peanut butter over the cone and in the grooves to make sure that the seeds will stick.

The next simple step is to simply pour birdseed on the pinecone or to roll the pinecone in the birdseed. This depends on what you find to be the easiest. Doing this will make the seed stick to the cone so that the birds will have something to eat. After this step is when you can also add fruits or other nutritional items for the birds to eat. Make it healthy!

This is a fun craft for you and your child to do. It will be fun to make and fun to watch when you’re finished. Have fun with pinecone crafts.
