All kids need something to do, even the little ones. Most of the time 2 year old craft projects are hard to find, but they aren’t hard to do. You can use many different materials with the younger children, they get excited about anything.
Some different things you can try with them are finger painting, drawing shapes, or coloring with crayons. A good thing to tie in with these things, are teaching the child their colors. When using a color keep telling them what it is so that they start to catch on. Here are some ideas that I find interesting for the little ones.
Painting with food
Children at this age love to get messy. Yes you could use finder paint and they could paint on a piece of paper, but generally it’s not just going to stay there. By using food, if they get it in there mouth it will also not be toxic. They can use things like mashed potatos and pudding. If they make a scenery they could also put things like gummy worms and gold fish. Just make sure they don’t start painting with there food at dinner time!
Pasting
An ideal 2 year old craft project is also pasting. Little kids like to use glue. You can cut out things for them to paste on a larger piece of paper. This may be messy but they will sure enjoy it.Two year olds will be messy, this is something that you have to deal with. But let them enjoy themselves. Doing little crafts will help them learn, even just by saying certain things over again, they will grasp things easier and easier. With 2 year old craft projects, just be creative, and worry about the cleaning later.
