Craft projects using old jeans can help to recycle them!

By Brandi W.

We all have random items around the house for fun crafts, but did you ever think about using your old denim for an exciting craft? There are many craft projects using old jeans, from magnets to purses.

You can make this into a fun mother daughter craft, or as a mom you could do it for your daughter as a gift. Below are some of my favorite jean crafts.

Jean Purse

This is easiest using the thigh part of the jean. Cut out a square or rectangle shape however long you want it, being sure not to cut the seam, as you want it to be connected so all that you have to sew is the bottom. Using the leftover from the leg you can make a strap also depending on how long you want it to be. Sew in the strap on the inside and sew the bottom across. Using sequins or other forms of decoration create the purse of your dreams!

Cut-offs

Instead of just cutting off your old jeans into shorts, why not try making them into capris. You can also add fun decorations like sequins down the seam or ribbons on the ends. You can also fray the ends to give them a vintage look by cutting in at an angle in a few spots. You can make anything fun!

As you see things can be recycled, instead of throwing away all those old clothes, put them to use. Be creative!
